Buck Moon - Glass Panel - Now Sold

As the season drifts into Autumn I've taken inspiration from the Native American Calendar of the Miami Illinois Tribes. The coming lunar months are represented by Stags/Bucks.

My latest glass panel is called Buck Moon or ayaapia kiilhswa in their own tongue. Late Autumn sees the mature stag dropping its antlers.

I've use oranges, deep pinks, green and blue for this piece and have leaded and copper foiled / soldered it all together. A patina has been applied to give an aged 'gun metal' look to the lead and solder.

The images are drawn in fired enamel and feature the stag and moon and framed by stylised trees and designs.

This piece is one of a kind and symbolises the great energy and spirit of our natural world as it changes, renews and heals itself.

Mr Fox & The Little Door..Fabric for Primitive Dolls

As always I've got plans for using my own fabric designs...Thought it might be fun to produce some Primitive Rag Dolls using 3Sisters fabric...the quirkier the better :) I produce the fabric and a very skilled lady in Clevedon makes the dolls.

Here's the fabric to be used on some of the doll dresses. Its called Mr fox and the Little Door.
Dolls will be ready for sale in my Etsy and Ebay shops in Autumn..which is closer than I realised!

Hoping to get out and about to do some Craft Fairs this winter..I've got lots of ideas..just need more days in the week!

YES, QUITE COMFY THANK YOU

Yes, Quite Comfy Thank you.. the title of my current Stained Glass panel featuring our own Riley Boy. He's a special lurcher who has allowed me to draw him whilst doing his favourite loafing activity.

The glass panel will be auctioned within the next week or so..just as soon as its finished..and all profits will go to the DAWGUST fund raising appeal. DAWG is the Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue charity that gave us Riley. They are currently raisng mony to giv homes to some Spanish Galgo's ( like greyhounds) that have been extremely cruelly treated.

So far the glass panel has afforded me 25 cuts to my finger ends, two solder iron burns, one cracked glass pane and a whole lot of happy hours spent in my Shed.

Hare -Stained Glass Arched Panel.

'To Catch a Thought be still awhile....'

I say 'farewell' to my first stained glass project this week as it goes to a new home. I hope it brings as much happiness and pleasure to its new owner as it did me to make it.

It's the first of many I have planned to create once my new workshop is built.
